Reforestation in the Amazon

The project’s area has been deforest in the last years. As an effort to preserve the flora and fauna of the regions Huasquila starts a reforesting project which includes a Botanical Garden to preserve and show all local plants with its medicinal uses and remind the younger generations of its ancient knowledge and customs.

The goal is to reforest 20 ha of land and have a wide variety of local plants to incentive younger generations to be aware of the resources they have and try to stop deforestation in this amazon region.

The activities the volunteers do are:

1. Nursery (collecting seeds and building a nursery)

2. Planting (bring the plants to the field from nursery and from the forest)

3. Maintenance (taking care of the existing plants in the nursery and in the fields, also from the living area)
