A major break in the Carrizal-Chone water pipe has caused concern to the local population living near the facility. Last Friday the pipe burst causing fright, uneasiness and anger in the province of Canes.

Residents expressed frustration that the abundant leaked water had flooded their crops.

"On Friday morning, we heard a loud explosion, which then was followed by a huge jet of water shooting into the air. Thank God there was not misfortune, of any children near the place when it happened", one local farmer affected said.

Farmer Ronaldo said that he "would like to find those responsible in the office of Carrizal-Chone S.To. of Stocking, but the only thing did was to lower the pressure of the water a little so only a small tickle came out.

According to other residents the situation is not a new one. There have been a plethora of incidents over the years in the same area with the same problems of burst water pipes.
