Commitment:: 1-3 weeks
Type of position:: Conservation position
Description: We offer a hands-on research experience for students, volunteers and interns to work in the imperiled rainforests of western Ecuador. Our trips take participants from wilderness camping in the jungle to the beaches of the Pacific Ocean, all working on the fascinating world of lizards, snakes and frogs. Our work helps conservation efforts and also allows us to describe new species while we still have the chance.
Requirements: Enthusiasm and a work-ethic are the most important requirements. There are also some more strenuous hikes on difficult terrain, although much of the work is slow-paced. Prices vary with expedition length.
