Moving Ecuador has developed an online system where our interns are able to communicate with us and each other, regardless of their location. We utilize the internet to coordinate work and evaluate the progress of our interns. Our task management system allows us to monitor your work carefully. This means you can travel and work, without having to go back to an office frequently. You can walk into our virtual office anytime!

We use the taskmanagement system to assign work to our interns, as well as to ourselves. Everybody can see what others are doing, which makes it easy to communicate and combine work. Sometimes you will be able to travel together with others, because you are going to work in the same area of the country.

Why do you use the online system?

• Flexibility; you can access all the important information, regardless of your location
• We show possibilities for innovation to our partners in Ecuador. Most of the people who run organisations are not aware of the opportunities they have through online innovation. Consider us promoters of innovation in Ecuador.
• Moving Ecuador wants to become Moving Latin America; having offices in every capital in Latin America is not effective. We want to coordinate the work from one central location. Even if we work in many countries on the continent. Online coordination is the perfect solution.
• Moving Ecuador is run by volunteers, we use innovation to save money.

Example of a task in the system:

We assigned a task to you; you have to travel to the small community of Salinas to take photos of their cheese factory and chocolate factory. They produce fair-trade products there (delicious!). You will receive an email with all the details of the assignment, which you can track back to a copy of the information in our system. Once you have started travelling to Salinas, you can let us know through the system. If you have questions, you can ask the person who assigned the task.

As soon as you re done taking photos and editing the best ones, You upload them to our website. We make sure they are exactly what we are looking for and publish them online. You will get a message and can see the photos on the Moving Ecuador website. Of course your name will be shown in the credits.

We also use forums and comment boxes, which makes it easy to discuss the assignment and give feedback and tips to others with similar tasks.
