Evaluation based on results
|
We evaluate our interns based on results. You want something to show for your time in EcuadorEcuador, but still have specific goals at the same time. Finishing your assignments will automatically mean you have successfully finished your internship. as an intern. So do we. We have developed a set of assignments for our interns. This means we have a specific workload for everybody. This includes required assignments and open assignments, giving you the opportunity to enjoy your time in For a journalism/ travel writing intern we have the following possible tasks: We work with a simple system, based on points. You finish an assignment, you receive points. Once you have received a certain amount of points, you have finished your internship. The amount of points you receive per task is related to the amount of time it takes for you to finish the work and how high it is on our priority list. Your assignments will be split up into two groups; open assignments and required assignments. Some assignments will be appointed to you, which means you will have to travel to certain areas, or write a story about a certain topics. Other assignments are open, so you can come up with interesting stuff to write about yourself. As a traveller you know best what other travellers may be interested in. Why do you work with this system?
What if I don’t get enough points to finish my internship? Let’s start by saying that we give you a good amount of time to enjoy yourself and still get all the assignments done. An internship in Ecuador should be fun! If for some reason you haven’t been able to finish your assignments we will discuss how to solve this. Maybe you can work on some assignments from home or help us out in some other way. Don’t worry, we are pretty flexible. Do I receive points for Spanish classes? Yes, the Spanish classes are part of the work. So work ethic and communication skills don’t matter for finishing the internship successfully? You will work alone or together with an intern on most occasions. It will obviously make you work a lot easier when you have the right work ethic or have excellent communication skills, but it is not required. Lack of work ethic will shine through in the quality of your work, just like problems with communicating. |
