In most towns in Ecuador the people celebrate the birth of the towns patrons. It usually turns into a big happening with parades and other festivities. Locals thrive on their agricultural businesses. In most regions markets are being held in large towns where everybody gathers to sell their goods. Every now and then, they go all out and organize an (anual) fair that attracts people from all over the country. Check one out to experience the agricultural splendor and cultural mix of Ecuador.

Independence-Day

In some major cities like Quito and Guayaquil, Ecuadorians celebrate independence days of their city. It´s a big deal! The festivities can last about a week and involve parades, dancing and excellent parties for everybody. Be there when it happens and leave the with some excellent, fun memories.

Festival

Ecuadorians are party people. Young, old, indigenous and mestizo, everybody will grab any excuse to get a festival going. Or at least it seems to be! Festivals are being held everywhere in the country, throughout the entire year. It is hard to find the best festivals in the country, because most are local en fairly traditional. If you do stumble upon one, you are usually more than welcome to join in!
