Dani Left for Costa Rica yesterday. Its sad to see her go. Feel like my group of friends is slowly dwindling. We had an amazing send off, though it wasnt quite what we had originally planned. Met early for drinks and appitizers at the fireside, one of my favorite martini bars. a few hours, gin martinis, purple haze's, cosmos, peach ladys and this really amazing smoked goat cheese appitizer later, we were ready to hit the town. Headed to Club Caliente (where else?), but the doors were locked. we waited around for a bit. After all, we were all dressed up and there isnt anywhere else in Hali comparable if you want to salsa dance. Finally Dani saw one of the workers from the club who she knows. Something bad happened that he wouldnt go into detail on. Said he'd open it for us but had no key. Went up to mexis for a little, but it just wasnt any fun, so we decided to check out this new club called coconut cove. The club use to be this really sketchy place to go watch bands. About a month ago it closed and very soon after coconut cove opened. I was worried that the inside would still be falling apart, as they hadnt taken much renovation time, but they had done a fantastic job. The stage had been replaced with an open dance floor, floor to ceiling mirrors, and comfy new booths. It was totally dead, so the owner let us in for free and gave us free reign of music selection. Danced for a bit, and hung out with the owner, rico, who insisted on bringing us free cosmos and these really amazing shooters called "x-rated". Today i have my meeting over my thesis. I will know as of 4 today what my plans are for ecuador. I have somewhat decided that regardless of what kings decides I will take the first half of the year off and stay longer in Quito, but any final decisions will have to wait till this afternoon. Then tomorrow its off for all my needles :P Is it true that malaria pils can make you crazy?? |
