We offer suggestions on how to be a responsible traveller, and ways to improve independent travellers' knowledge of the villages and regions they visit: considering tradition, culture, language, economy, history and current issues. We have created two lists to help you become a responsible traveller. Put them into practise and you will see responsible travel is a fun way of travelling and a great way to help Ecuador. Moving Ecuador has developed the Moving Ecuador Travel Guide, filled with responsible travel destinations in Ecuador. These destinations are mainly community-based and easy to reach. Because not many people visit them, it is a great way to get to know the real Ecuador. If you'd rather get your hands dirty and contribute directly to the development of Ecuador, have a look at our volunteering database. With over a hundred unique volunteering opportunities posted by non-profit organisations in Ecuador, it is the largest volunteering database in Ecuador.
