|
We are seeking aspired journalists, editors and travel writers with a sense of adventure and interest in different cultures to contribute articles to our website and online newsletter. We offer you hands-on experience and the opportunity to become published on a fast-growing online community in Latin America. Whilst you are developing your skills as a travel writer/ journalist, you will have the opportunity to learn more about Ecuador and its amazing culture. As part of the internship you will learn the Spanish language and immerge in the Latin American way of life. OVERVIEW Moving Ecuador is a fast growing online community which shares information about Ecuador. Ecuador is badly covered by the Western media, which explains why so few people are familiar with the culture. We have launched a website in an attempt to create more insight about Ecuador, its culture and possibilities for travellers. Our demographic mainly consists of people travelling to Ecuador. However, we wish to offer everybody with a general interest in Ecuador and Ecuadorean culture the information they are looking for. WHY ECUADOR? The country of Ecuador is a perfect place to begin any travel writing career. As a microcosm of South America it includes the natural areas of South America: the rainforest, Andes and coast giving any writer a plethora of material to write about. Moving Ecuador has already established contacts in the deepest depths of the country where no other traveller has been, and it will be your job to travel to these places and write about them. There are eight different races of people too, which guarantees fascinating interviews from radically different people but from the same country. INNOVATIVE APPROAH TO INTERNSHIPS Our internships are organised differently from traditional internships. We offer an innovative approach to your work, our guidance and the way we measure the results of your efforts. Online taskmanagement Moving Ecuador has developed an online system where our interns are able to communicate with us and each other, regardless of their location. We utilize the internet to coordinate work and evaluate the progress of our interns. Our task management system allows us to monitor your work carefully. This means you can travel and work, without having to go back to an office frequently. You can walk into our virtual office anytime! Learn more about our online task management system here. Evaluation based on results We evaluate our interns based on results. You want something to show for your time in Ecuador as an intern. So do we. We have developed a set of assignments for our interns. This means we have a specific workload for everybody. This includes required assignments and open assignments, giving you the opportunity to enjoy your time in Ecuador, but still have specific goals at the same time. Finishing your assignments will automatically mean you have successfully finished your internship. For more information about our work requirements, please click here. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS Minimum age: We only accept applicants 18 years or older. Minimum time spend on the internship: Our internships are based on a workload for each month. However, we prefer interns staying at least two months. Spanish language: You are not required to speak Spanish before you go to Ecuador. However, you will have to take at least two weeks of classes upon arrival to learn basic or intermediate Spanish. The time you spend on these classes will be included in the internship program. If you already speak Spanish you will be asked to take a test which shows you speak Spanish on at least an intermediate level. You can choose to take additional classes if you like. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Most internships offer little in the way of experience, but this internship is a unique chance to work as a journalist or travelwriter in a professional environment. Unlike most interns, you will be expected to be a part of the team, which includes applying your skill and experience gained from placements and university. Remember, you are not dealing with a state or province but an entire country. Apply for our internship here! For more detailed information, please click on one of the following questions |
