How to get thereFrom Quito take a bus to the city of Canar, they leave the Quito main busterminal regularly. Busses going to Cuenca and Loja pass through Canar. From Canar you need to hire a truck to take you to the community of Shayacrrumi. This should cost you about $5,00 USD and takes 25 minutes.From Cuenca Carboneria is easier to reach. In only 2,5 hours you can reach the community. Take any bus going north to Quito, Ambato, Canar, El Tambo or Riobamba. Costs and time to get there: From Quito $13,00 - 8,5 hours (including camioneta from city of Canar) From Cuenca $7,00 - 2,5 hours (including camioneta from city of Canar)
