Riobamba is easy to get to. With direct busses to Quito leaving every 20 minutes and busses going to Cuenca every 30 minutes, it's conveniently located on the road through the Andes. Other busses leave for nearby Guaranda towards the coast and Banos or Puyo in the rainforest.
You can also get on a direct bus to Guayaquil from Riobamba.
